Ny uppdatering för Wii från Nintendo(Firmware v3.0) + changelist

Nintendo släppte igår en uppdatering för Wii. Versionsnummret är nu uppe i 3.0. Den största nyheten är att du nu finns en klocka i huvudmenyn och lite ytterligare funktioner i Wii Shop. 🙂 Det har rapporterats om att folk som har haft chip installerat i sin konsoll har haft problem. Men det verkar bara beröra de som kört Gamecube spel från SD minneskort. Nintendo har även lagt till stöd för USB tangenbord till Wii.

Det som är ändrat från version 2.2 till version 3.0 är följande:

Main Menu Revisions

Clock Display
The Disc turns 180-degrees on the Disc Channel icon
News Channel icon displays headlines
Forecast Channel icon now displays the weather without entering the channel
Faster loading times when changing channels/leaving channels
Move contacts on Address Book
Calendar no longer displays envelopes for the amount of time you played, only messages
Light bar goes on when disk is inserted or removed
Able to navigate Wii Settings with + and –
Scrolling through messages has a new sound, and scrolling with B now displays an arrow similar to the Internet Channel

Wii Shop Channel Revisions

New Welcome screen detailing 4 Recommended Titles and the points they cost
Titles You’ve Downloaded was moved to the main shop menu
New ways to browse
Popular Titles (not only based on recent info)
Newest Additions remains the same
Search for a title which can use partial names
Search by Category
System shows the different systems and how many titles have been released under each
Publisher showing different publishers and amount of titles released
Genres listed

Här kommer en lista på det som är ändrat från version 2.0 till version 2.2:

Using the pair rental control with the Internet channel becomes possible.
The problem that the noise occurs from the television at the standby mode was corrected.

Wii menu

Changing the order of the row of each channel becomes possible.

Photograph channel

”All MP3” is added to ”The tune is chosen” of the slide show setting.

Wii option

The saving data of the game preserved in the main body of Wii and the data of the channel etc.
Copying it onto the SD memory card becomes possible.
”Update of the main body function” is added.
The setting of Proxy becomes possible because of the setting of the Internet.
The deletion function of the channel is added to data management.

Wii message board

The sending and receiving message using WiiConnect24 becomes possible.
The registration function to the address book is added.

Wii firmware 3.0 issues

Nintendo has released firmware 3.0 via online updates. It will NOT brick or disable Wiikey; however, base and config discs will not load ’natively’, neither will any other GC disc with El Torito standard header format. WiiNewz have reported that there are already tools available for building bootable config and setup discs, as well as other discs with applications and emulators. We are currently researching why the El Torito format no longer works. Once this is completed new versions of the config and base system disc will be made available.
